I’ve been sort of recovering from an incredibly busy couple of weeks but trying to get into shooting again on a daily basis. The light was kind to me this afternoon. I’m hoping the weather stays stable for the next week so I can get out to the Yarra Valley and shoot a winery, restaurant and cheese shop. I’ll post some shots when I’m happy with them.

Things seem to be easing up creatively.. I am getting back into shooting almost daily. That may well change again once I have university assignments and teaching placements.. we’ll see.
I managed a quick trip to central victoria this afternoon.. It was nice to get out of town. I didn’t shoot much, but got a few decent shots. This shot from Maldon works well I think. Maldon has one of the oldest street frontages in the country, with a lot of it dating back to before the gold rush. It was quite beautiful, I’d like to get back during the week sometime to shoot with fewer cars and people around.
I’ve not been shooting much lately, I’m really trying to pare back what I do. Learn and expand a little, I feel like I’ve hit a bit of a brick wall and that nothing has evolved for a while.
I know that this is an inevitability, I’ve felt it before, but I’ve also sort of enjoyed not shooting all the time. I’ve been re adjusting my headspace to get back into some part time study and I think I’m ready. I’ll definitely keep up the shooting, albeit at a slower pace.
Sometimes, colours jump out at me. This was one of those times. I really did very little to this. I’d thought about leaving the perfect blue sky in before I shot, but it distracted from the strong duo tone.

I’m undertaking a degree in secondary education with the plan of becoming a high school teacher. I’m planning on teaching photography, art, maybe some history & possible French. I will be studying part time for quite a few years. I’m looking forward to the challenge.
It’s been a fun and productive year. I manager to work together a good edition of Refractions with my friends Robert Young and Stuart Murdoch. Which we also turned into an on going website and blog, there will be more coming from Refractions sometime in the first half of 2013. I also happily ran urbanphotomag.wordpress.com where I sourced a good number of urban photography essays, that is still on going also and I’ve got a few posts up my sleeve for the new year. I also learnt a couple of good lessons after being unfortunately ripped off by a “customer” who never paid his bill and can’t be found.
I more recently started raising money for a substantial solo exhibition to be held next year, if you haven’t had a look yet, please do pozible.com/awurstershow I’d appreciated any support and there are rewards if you support me and I reach the goal, I really hope I do. I’m hoping to be able to travel a little, to Thailand or Vietnam sometime towards the middle of the year, I might also study, I’m waiting to hear. I’m hoping to do a secondary teaching degree so I can teach photography, art, design and maybe French.
Overall, I think it’s going to be an overwhelmingly productive year, I’ve got a group show I’ll be a part of and hopefully my own solo show.
Thanks for listening & looking..
Andrew
It’s been almost exactly one year since my last exhibition with my friend Robert Young . This time I’ve decided to have a solo show, I’ve never had a substantial solo exhibition. There have been a number of small shows over the years, but this one will be a good size. I’ve created a gallery of the work that will be included. I’d appreciate support from anyone who can. There will be rewards, ranging from some post cards, all the way up to an A2 print. I hope that with your help, I can make this dream a reality. I’m also looking for a venue, I’d like to be able to let the work sit in a space which doesn’t require my attention for two to three weeks, if you know anywhere which I could use, please get in touch, leave a comment here, tweet at me.. email me.. text me..
I’ve created my 2012 Collection on my website
